Samer Ghamroun
Samer partook in the initial effort to build the Legal Agenda and was a member of its first team in 2010. He held several research responsibilities before presiding over the Board between 2014 and 2018. He is currently the Board’s secretary. Samer is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Science in the Saint Joseph University of Beirut, where he teaches legal sociology and legal history, among other courses. Samer’s research and publications pertain to law and society, covering topics such as the legal professions and the relationship between politics and the law and judiciary in Lebanon and the Arab region. His research interests also include religious legal systems for personal status and their relationship with civil systems, as well as legal pluralism and the state’s normative power in the region
